Singing bowls Chöpa
höpa Singing Bowls
Chöpa singing bowls produce a clear, pure tone. They are mostly thin-walled bowls with a rounded shape and a slightly flattened bottom. These bowls are very popular and among the best-selling types, largely due to their favorable pricing. Chöpa bowls have a quick response time, meaning the sound follows immediately after striking.
Overtones: As with nearly all musical instruments, singing bowls produce overtones. The lower-register overtones enrich and round out the fundamental tone. The nasal resonance of overtone singing blends beautifully with the overtones of the singing bowls.
Pulsing: Spinning on an inverted bowl: in this technique, a large bowl is placed upside down on a cloth or cushion, and a smaller bowl is spun and lightly tapped on its underside using a wooden stick.
