Himalayan cedar, scientifically known as Cedrus deodara, is a species of cedar native to the western Himalayas in eastern Afghanistan, northern Pakistan, northern India, and western Nepal. It is a large evergreen coniferous tree with a conic crown, spreading branches, and needle-like leaves.

The attractive grain and aromatic fragrance of deodar cedar wood make it a prized material for decorative purposes, as well as a staple ingredient in a wide variety of traditional Tibetan incenses. Smoke from Himalayan cedar wood is often associated with spiritual grounding and purification. It is believed to enhance mental clarity, promote focus, and support meditation practices.
