Description
One of the oldest expressions of our spirituality is the creation of fertility figurines. Such mother goddess figures, also known as Venus figurines, have been found throughout Eurasia, from Sardinia to Siberia. Some of these statuettes date back to the Aurignacian period of the Paleolithic, as early as 35,000 years ago, and were crafted from valuable materials such as mammoth ivory.
This modern, neopagan statue continues this long tradition. Its form reflects archetypal themes such as fertility, growth and the cyclical nature of life.
