Chakras

Chakras are subtle energy points, literally called energy wheels. They function as places where energy is exchanged. In fact, we have hundreds of chakra points spread throughout our subtle energy system. The best known are the seven main chakras, which are connected in the central energy channel of our body that runs along the spine. When the chakras function well, these centres are gateways for vital life energy entering our body through channels (nadis) and meridians in our subtle body. At the same time they are also release points for low-frequency energy to flow back to the subtle bodies to be transformed. Each of the seven major chakras represents a level of consciousness or stage of life development, viewed from the perspective of our physical existence. Chakras may function less effectively when they remain in a negative state for long periods due to negative habits and suppressed emotions. This makes it difficult for the personality to fully integrate the level of consciousness each chakra represents.
