Vesonite is usually an olive green gemstone, which is reminiscent of jade due to their similar appearance. Originally, the mineral was named vesuvianite after Mount Vesuvius in Italy, where it was first discovered. Like many green-coloured gemstones, vesonite is connected with the heart chakra. It is believed to open and activate this chakra, allowing the gentle release of pent up anger, and facilitating feelings of compassion, love, and forgiveness.*
