White Sage smudge bundles consist of tied, dried leaves of Salvia apiana, combined here with Palo Santo wood. The practice of burning aromatic plant material originates in Indigenous cultures of North America, where different botanicals were selected depending on context and intent. Today, white sage blends are used as botanical incense for ritual work, meditation, bodywork, or for marking a transition or conclusion.
The addition of Palo Santo introduces a warm, resinous and lightly sweet nuance to the smoke.
The bundles are briefly lit and allowed to smoulder, with the smoke directed around a space, object, or person.
