Phoenix Import specialises in the wholesale of Aleppo soap, an ancient soap of Syrian origin, in the city of Aleppo, from which it takes its name. It is a completely natural soap without additives, with a yellow/brown colour outside and green inside. Its scent is delicate and recalls the smell of olive oil. Aleppo soaps do not contain preservatives, so it is recommended not to store them in plastic containers, but to keep them on special wooden soap dishes. Do not wait, log on to Phoenix Import to see our vast range of Aleppo soaps.
Alepeo produces authentic certified organic traditional Aleppo soap, using the hot saponification method. To produce this fantastic soap, natural ingredients, and vegetable oils such as olive oil, bay leaf oil and soda are used. The raw materials are chosen according to criteria that guarantee the quality and traceability of the soaps. No palm oil is used.
The characteristic seal of the manufacturer is a guarantee of the authenticity and quality of these Aleppo soaps. The seal is divided into three sections, the first indicates that this soap contains laurel oil, the second shows the name of the manufacturer (BASMAJI in Arabic), while the third shows the name of the city "Aleppo" in Arabic.
The stars on the soaps indicate the percentage of laurel oil. The more stars there are, the higher the percentage of this oil. The percentage of laurel oil is a useful indicator on how to use these soaps according to the type of skin: sensitive or normal skins should use a soap with a lower percentage of oil, while oily skin will benefit from a higher percentage of oil. Children's skin also requires a low percentage of laurel oil.
Besides the solid soaps with different percentages of Laurel oil and different fragrances, Phoenix Import also offers Alepeo liquid body wash, shampoo and conditioners. A real treat is the Alepeo Aleppo solid shampoo. A must try!
Aleppo soap is produced in an artisanal way, following a method that dates back about three thousand years ago.
The first stage of preparation concerns the harvest of the olives, which will be pressed to form an oil. The oil will be heated, then a mixture of water and lye will be added. The cooking of this mixture will last for days until a thick dough is obtained.
At this point the dough will be allowed to cool. Once cooled, the laurel oil will be added to the dough, then it will be transferred to tanks for solidification. The solidified soap will then be cut into blocks that will be placed on wooden structures to be dried for 9-12 months, after which the soap will be ready to be sold.
Today, to facilitate production, changes have been made in the preparation phases of Aleppo soap, but these do not alternate its characteristics and its effectiveness.
Aleppo soap has a basic pH, but it is still a mild soap and is famous for having cleansing, antibacterial, purifying and anti-inflammatory properties.
Owing to these very characteristics, Aleppo soap is suitable for numerous purposes. In addition to its common use for hands and body, it can be used for hair, but also for washing laundry by hand. A curiosity: Aleppo soap is also excellent against moths to use in the wardrobe.
Besides the range of Alepeo Aleppo products, we also sell Najel Aleppo products.
