Description
The invention of the Chinese spouting bowl dates back to the Han Dynasty, over 2000 years ago.
The Chinese name of a bowl like this, LONGXI, is derived from the pattern on the bottom of the bowl, an image of 4 dragons.
How to use
Fill the bowl halfway with water and rub the handles vigorously with wet hands. The resonance will produce pleasing sounds and causes the water to ripple and eventually spout, even up to 50 cms. It may cost some time to practise but the result is astonishing!
